Projects :

2015-2016. Discourse-analysis of Ukrainian events in the Belarusian media

I focused on the strategies of describing the Ukrainian crisis within the state, opposition and independent media in Belarus. For this, I have developed a system of categories and indicators to identify propaganda in the Belarusian media. I found out that the opposing sides were represented in the Belarusian media almost identically through elements of anti-fascist and anti-war rhetoric.

2018-2019. The experience of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum visitors

( journals.bsu.by/index.php/sociology/article/view/1708

The project was devoted to the study of the desacralization processes of the Holocaust collective memory in the representations of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum visitors. I found that the growing popularity and commercialization of the Museum led to the disappointment of some users who felt that the Museum lost its special sacred status and turned into an entertainment center.

2019. Analysis of the moral panic over synthetic drugs in the Belarusian media.

I have collected and analyzed the publications about the "spice" drug in the Belarusian media. I found that the strengthening of anti-drug legislation was connected with the moral panic about the smoking mixtures that appeared on the Belarusian drug market. As a result, spice changed the status of an illegal drug to the status of absolute evil, which is the main threat to young people and the national security. Thus, the measures of increasing the social control were strengthened radically.

2019-2020 . The creation of an educational game on the history of the World War II in the format of the chatbot OurMemory (game design + development).

OurMemory educational project is a text-based role-playing game in two formats: visual novel and chatbot. It is based on the diaries of World War II participants. The game makes it possible to immerse yourself in the war reality and repeat the life path of the selected character. The game is interactive: it allows you to change the plot depending on the player's choice, to live the emotions of people who had to expose themselves to bodily and moral tests, regardless of the side of the conflict.

Now

Now I am the scientific supervisor and curator of the volunteer research project "Our Scientific Opinion", in which scientists and developers from Belarus and other countries work. My responsibility is connected with a subproject for the analysis of Belarusian media and Telegram channels. I advise and coordinate a development team that builds tools for interactive data analysis, data markup, and machine learning. My analytical work is related to setting research tasks, developing hypotheses, defining datasets, identifying categories and indicators for automated content analysis, writing analytical texts for the social media.
